#COOKBLOGSHARE WEEK #1 PLUS 3 FANTASTIC FRUIT CAKES
Welcome to the first #CookBlogShare of 2018!
#CookBlogShare is a weekly link party where we share recipes, comment on each other’s cooking creations and generally immerse ourselves in the world of gastronomy! If you’ve got a recipe this is the place to show it off!
If you are new to this link party please take a moment to read the guidelines below. Joining is very simple and you are welcome to share your old and new recipes (there is no specific theme and all recipes are welcome).
Thank you to everyone who shared their recipe with us last week.
I hope everyone has had an enjoyable, delicious Christmas and New Year and is full of new ideas for another year of great food! We say farewell to the festive season with these 3 Fantastic Fruit Cakes – each one with a different take on this much loved festive treat and each one equally appealing.
Here they are:
Marilyn’s Treats shared her family recipe for a delicious Applesauce Fruit Cake, which she has enjoyed for 25 years! With all the fruit and nuts and fragrant festive spices it simply has to be delicious! And I imagine the applesauce keeps it nice and moist, which I think is always a plus with a fruity cake recipe.
Herbs, Spices and Tradition shared her delicious Eggless Fruit Cake recipe, which she made with buttermilk. This is a quick and easy recipe, perfect for this time of year, especially if you live in Calgary, Canada’s winter wonderland, and you’d rather enjoy the snow than be in the kitchen baking for hours (I lived in Canada’s north and south for 10 years so I know all about the snow:)!
Last but certainly not least is this One-Bowl Vegan Pineapple Fruit Cake from Curry and Vanilla. This is another quick and easy recipe, although very different from the other 2 cakes. It has a healthy twist in the form of whole wheat flour (because even desserts can be made a little healthier!), coconut as well as pineapple juice to keep it moist. Sounds delicious!
Thank you again for sharing your delicious recipes with #CookBlogShare! I am looking forward to seeing your recipes, whether old or new, so join the party and link up your creations!
Your host next week will be Eb@Easy Peasy Foodie.
